Fabric  Disclaimer

Our linen is made from the flax plant and is 100% natural, woven fibres. You may notice nubs and slubs – these can be small and circular or run longer across an area. These are completely normal and do not affect safety. Consider these character marks as part of your sling’s natural beauty.

Alteration

Any alterations made after the initial purchase from True North Slings, including (but not limited to) ring swaps, tag removal, dyeing, is done at your own risk. True North Slings is not liable for any damages, injuries or death resulting from the alteration of our ring slings. It is important to ensure that you are working with a qualified service provider and the work completed on your ring sling is done to industry safety standards.

Return/Exchange Policy

All sales through our website are final. Our products are carefully reviewed for any defects to ensure you are receiving a quality ring sling. Should you identify any defects due to shipping or the manufacturing process, you are entitled to an exchange within 14 days after delivery. Please note that the product must be returned unused and in original packaging with all original tags. Custom orders are non refundable.

Personal Data

True North Slings Inc. collects your personal information in order to complete a purchase (through Shopify, Stripe, and PayPal), to ship your order (through Shipstation) and optionally (opt-in) to add your name and email address for the subscription to our newsletter (through MailChimp). Your personal information (name, address, email, phone number) are retained in order to register your sling (as required by industry regulations and allows us to contact you should we need to share any important information regarding your purchase. True North Slings Inc. does not retain any of your financial information such as credit card numbers. True North Slings Inc. is not responsible for any injuries or death that occurs while using our ring slings. Please take the time to learn the proper use of the ring sling and always follow the safety tips on our Learn page. If at any point you see any defects or abnormal wear/tear, please stop using the ring sling and contact us to determine the best course of action. Please be sure to read the information in the instruction manual that comes with your purchase as well as the warnings which are below. Failure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions can result in death or serious injury.

SUFFOCATION HAZARD

  • Babies younger than 4 months can suffocate in this product if face is pressed tightly against your body. Babies at greatest risk of suffocation include those born prematurely and those with respiratory problems.

  • Check often to make sure baby’s face is uncovered, clearly visible, and away from caregiver’s body at all times.

  • Make sure baby does not curl into a position with the chin resting on or near baby’s chest. This position can interfere with breathing, even when nothing is covering the nose or mouth.

  • If you nurse your baby in carrier, always reposition after feeding so baby’s face is not pressed against your body.

  • Never use this carrier with babies smaller than 8 pounds without seeking the advice of a healthcare professional.

FALL HAZARD

  • Leaning, bending over, or tripping can cause baby to fall. Keep one hand on baby while moving.

  • True North Ring Slings are weight tested to be safe for babies between 8 and 35 pounds.

  • Read and follow all printed instructions and view instructional videos at truenorthslings.ca before use.

  • Check for ripped seams, torn straps or fabric, and damaged hardware before each use. If found, stop using carrier.

  • Always check to ensure that all knots, buckles, snaps, straps, and adjustments are secure.

  • Ensure that the baby is safely positioned in the sling carrier according to manufacturer’s instructions for use.

  • Never leave a baby in a sling carrier that is not being worn.

  • Check on the baby often. Ensure that the baby is periodically repositioned.

  • Never use a sling carrier when balance or mobility is impaired because of exercise, drowsiness, or medical conditions.

  • Never place more than one baby in the sling carrier.

  • Never use/wear more than one carrier at a time.

  • Never use sling carrier while engaging in activities such as cooking and cleaning, which involve a heat source or exposure to chemicals.

  • Never wear sling carrier while driving or being a passenger in a motor vehicle.
